Summerlicious 2009

This page lists all the restaurants/meals I would willingly fork over my hard-earned money to taste. Obviously, I will not get through this entire list, but I am going to try. Tentative schedule:
Pangaea on June 4 (lunch), Quince on June 9, Auberge du Pommier on June 14, and Pangaea on June 17 (dinner).

Lunch

PANGAEA – $20
From the menu:
Charcuterie – A selection of house cured salamis with pork rillettes and toasted ficelle
Lake Trout Almondine – Pan-roasted, sautéed green beans, new potatoes, cracked roasted almonds, shallots and an almond and lemon noisette
Niagara Shortcake – Seasonal Niagara fruit including apricots and cherries on angel food cake with whipped cream and crème Anglaise

MILDRED’S TEMPLE KITCHEN – $20
From the menu:
Chilled Summer Soup
Pan Seared Arctic Char with new potatoes, sweet peas & saffron
Summer Berry pudding

TUTTI MATTI – $20
From the menu:
Bruschetta con Caponata – Grilled country bread, stewed summer vegetables, olives, capers, ricotta fresca
Tagliatelle con Ragu – Hand cut pasta with meat sauce
Gelato – Vanilla gelato, stewed summer cherries

ROMAGNA MIA – $20
From the menu:
Porchettina con Insalata Estiva e Pecorino – Roasted Piglet Served with Summer Salad topped with Shaved Pecorino
Penne alla Matricana col Nostro Gunciale – Penne in the Matricana Style Made with Homemade Gunciale
Crème Caramel alla Pesca
Peach Creme Caramel

DIDIER – $30
From the menu:
Vichyssoise, Sorbet Citron – Chilled puree of leek and potato, lime sorbet garnish
Demi Coquelet, Pommes Persillée, Sauce Diable – Seared half Cornish hen, parsley potatoes, sauce Diable
Crème Caramel – Traditional crème caramel

Dinner

QUINCE – $25
From the menu:
Moroccan spiced lamb “bricks” green bean, sweet onion & raisin salad, harissa dressing
Confit of duck leg, vegetable & flageolet bean cassoulet
Belgian dark and white chocolate terrine, raspberry coulis, caramel sauce

PALLUCI – $25
From the menu:
Grilled Calamari with sun dried tomatoes, red onion on a bed of baby arugula
tossed with a warm balsamic reduction
Veal Parmigiano served with roasted potatoes and fresh daily vegetables
Chocolate/Raspberry Tartuffo

TREVOR KITCHEN & BAR – $35
From the menu:
Dayboat sea scallop with cornbeef hash & black truffle mustard
Crispy duck confit with sweet corn & sage risotto
Strawberry tiramisu

AUBERGE DU POMMIER – $45
From the menu:
Brandade de Morue – delicate cod brandade with olives, daisy capers, lemon candy and toasted French baguette
Veau à la Pistou – herb roasted loin of grass fed veal with French coco beans, organic roots and basil pesto nage
Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta – with pineapple, passion fruit and lychee sorbet
